Nikki - Female Liver GSD - Chocolate variation

Here is an excellent shot of Nikki's head and muzzle. Notice the nose leather. This almost looks like a Black and Tan who's picture was over exposed during processing. But this in fact is a fairly decent picture depicting one of the many shades of the Chocolate variation of Liver pigmentation. Not black, but varying shades of brown on tan.

Nikki is a female Liver GSD. Her particular color would be described as Chocolate in terms of what variation of the Liver pigmentation color she is expressing. There are various shades of Livers just like there are of Blues, but there are two distinct variations in Liver GSD's. Chocolate which is truly shades of Brown, usually dark rich brown as adults, and Cinnamon which has a definate red tint to the coat. You can see an example of a Cinnamon Liver GSD here.
