Cheyenne is a Powder Blue out of Cherokee Kennels. She is also my Renegades littermate. Out of that particular litter they were the only two Blues whelped in a litter of 8 pups.
Here Renegade and Cheyenne pose together at 18 months of age. Renegade is on the left looking scruffy compared to Cheyenne's pristine appearance. He didn't show up there that way! While I was photographing Cheyenne by herself my dog found a mud puddle in the back and so this photo was taken after a quick dousing with the hose!!! You can see how my dog decorated the bottom of my shirt with mud in this photo. LOL
Here is an excellent shot depicting a Powder Blues true gray coat color. Unlike Steel Blues, who grow into darkly colored dogs only identifiable as a Blue many times by their eye color or by placing them next to a truly Black pigmented dog, a Powder can in no way ever be mistaken for a traditionally colored GSD.
Cheyenne's Yellow eye color is quite evident in this photo. This yellow eye coloring is a fairly prominent trait in Cherokee lines in regards to their Blues. Cheyenne was also related to my Rebel but they were from different litters.
A profile shot of Cheyenne. Again the gray saddle color is very noticeable in this shot. Cheyenne was bred by Linda of Cherokee Kennels in Central California just outside of Merced County. She has since moved and I lost track of her years ago. If you know where to find her or her daughter who owned Cheyenne please contact me at BlueDogs@Bluedogs.8m.com
