"Solitaire"

This adorable face belongs to"Pinewoods True Blue Solitaire", call name Solitaire, when she was just a little pup. Solitaire is "Buffy" and "Driller's" older sister and the first blue German Shepherd her owner Kathy had ever seen. She stumbled onto Solitaire quite by accident while at a breeders house to purchase a 4 month old male pup out of Lord von Gleiserick son. The breeder showed her two 3 day old puppies while she was there. These two were later to be named Xena and Solitaire. Kathy was so struck by this almost solid silver puppy that she returned several times over the course of the next few months to see this silver pup grow. She had called around after first seeing her and found out she was a blue. People warned her not to get the pup. That it would die before it was a year old and other nonsense rumors. But Kathy looked into those gorgeous eyes and knew she was bringing this pup home. Turns out since her mother had went with her each time to view the pups she had fallen in love with Solitaires Black and Red littermate whom they also bought, brought home, and named Xena. Solitaire and Xena are now 4 years old, and quite happy and healthy. |

Beautiful blue green eyes are not uncommon in young Blue pups. Deep Cobalt blue is another color often seen. |

Owner Kathy, with littermates Xena(left) and Solitaire. The difference between a blue pup and their black littermates is quite obvious in this picture. Notice that Solitaires eyes and nose leather are much lighter. Xena and Solitaire are often referred to as "The Twins" as they are inseperable until this day. |

Solitaires beautiful eyes just reach out and grab you. |

A shot taken trying to catch the blue muzzle color and nose leather. To the untrained eye this may look like a black and tan but it's actually a great shot showing the color of an adult blue. I'll have to post this picture on a comparison page next to a pic of a black and tan. |
